Felix Arvid Ulf Kjellberg, better known as PewDiePie is in trouble again. People have filed in a petition to remove the channel “Permanently” from You
This is not the first time PewDiePie has to face accusations of supporting racism. In 2017, the US’s Wall Street Journal uncovered nine videos and clips of the Swede in which he might be seen displaying anti-Semitic and racist content. One of the videos included paying some Indians to reveal a message that reads “Death to all Jews” but nothing certain happened after he stated:
“I don’t feel good. I don’t feel too proud of this, I’m not going to lie. I’m not anti-Semitic or whatever it’s called. It was a funny meme, and I didn’t think it would work… I swear, I love jews. I love them”
The petition is filed and organized by Maria Ruiz in the wake of the March 15 terror attack in two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand. The shameful act claimed
In the petition, she wrote:
“In the wake of the most recent mosque shooting, I believe it is time to take action as a community and remove white supremacist content from our platforms.
One of the largest platforms for white supremacist content is PewDiePie’s YouTube channel. PewDiePie has on many occasions proven once and again to promote and affiliate himself with white supremacist and Nazi ideologies.
Worst of all his channel is very much aimed toward children in their formative years. The New Zealand mosque shooter even mentioned PewDiePie by name and asked people to subscribe.”
And she has listed things done by PewDiePie in the past as well like,
- Made jokes on rape.
- Used the American president’s names with the wrong caption.
- Made a clip of a man dressed as Jesus and holding a sign stating
“Hitler did absolutely nothing wrong”.
- Did a video on Nazi heil and much more.
She concludes by saying:
“It’s time to remove PewDiePie from YouTube permanently and develop AI to find and remove extremist material instead of having the SPLC do their work for them.”
Till now Felix has not commented on the petition. But, his friends are continuously commenting and posting things.
There is a strange thing in order to leave a comment you need to sign in first. The petition has a goal of 75,000 signatures. So let’s see where it goes.
